Wake-Up-Call Folks with Charm, Insights, Truths About
Life, Networking, Success
by Ralph Gonzalez
A combination of evangelist,
stand-up comic and serious guru, Ted Fattoross spent
his hour and a half at the 15th Wake-Up-Call seminar
July 20 delivering a series of one-liners that had his
audience at Borders Books, Music and Café in
Livingston in stitches.
Do 12 things daily that scare
you, he said, and therefore you’ll be come fearless.
Don’t fear anything, not even a cubicle. Be comfortable
in your own skin.
Be happy; it’s free.
Surround yourself with 12 people whom you can call at
2 am for a hug at the Bendix Diner. Don’t judge;
don’t pre-judge.
If you think outside the
box, he said, the corporation will fire you. Instead,
live outside that box. Striving for excellence is healthy;
striving for perfection is neurotic.
Networking
works
Noting that networking is doing the right thing, he
suggested that once one is comfortable in his/her own
skin, it comes easy and works. “Find a person
in the corner who’s alone.” Being at ease
comes from inside.
Ted Fattoross is the founder
and CEO of Network Plus, a global membership organization
that offers networking events throughout the world in
local spots for local people. Its goal is to create
the best environment for networking while offering a
range of “plus” services that assist members
in growing their businesses — through education,
motivation and inspiration.
