Hurricane Katrina is bringing out the
best in people from all over the world. To be a part
of this vast, caring phenomenon, visit the internet
for lists upon lists of places accepting donations of
any kind — from spare rooms to clothing to cases
of water to refurbished military barracks. Even the
fire engine donated to New York City after 9/11 by the
New Orleans Fire Department is on its way back to Louisiana.
The American Red Cross is perhaps the most visible site.
