Persuasion: Make People Do What You Want Them To

Mark Levy worked his magic on a score of Wake-Up Call attendees July 19 at Borders Books Music and Café in Livingston as he paired people up to role play business presentations. The former magician not only shared his experiences in persuading people who don’t want to be persuaded, he tricked his audiences into believing they could do the same.

Watch what your potential client is writing down and remember that’s what he or she finds important. Analyze the situation and find a unique solution to a problem, he said, relating how he directed another magician into branding himself as a magician for millionaires because that’s what he was doing most of the time. Be entertaining. Work your own magic.

Next up is Larry Bailin of Single Throw, Inc., September 27 at Borders in Livingston. The workshop will reveal how to connect to the new connected customer and begins at 8 am. n
