Breakfast Series Off to Great Start

Breakfast Series Off to Great Start

Elaine Kamm, President, EKGroup, led a group of Ad Club members and guests along a clear, concise pathway March 26 at Borders in Livingston as she coached them on “How to Become Executive Material (and Stay that Way).”

The result of her extremely detailed analysis of leadership qualities, acquiring them, keeping them and using them effectively in any environment was that the attentive audience all left convinced each was a leader.

Pertinent points included the distinction between management and leadership — management is about getting things done, Ms. Kamm said; leadership is about making a difference. Leadership, she added, is not made by decree; it is granted by those who want to be led by you.

Focus on what’s important, she said, urging her audience to manage time with intention; remain optimistic, tenacious and focused on the goal; and finally be solution versus blame focused.

Other nuggets like the above comprised her presentation. For more, contact Ms. Kamm at 908.537.2003 or online at elainekamm@ekgrp.com.

The early morning “Wake-Up Call” was the first in a series of six breakfast workshops scheduled every other month until January 2004. The second, “How to Give a Great Presentation,” with Jim Wardell of NJ Biz Magazine, will be held May 21 at 8:00 am at Borders, 530 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, in Livingston.
