President's Message AdTalk March 2005

Serendipity.

I wonder sometimes how much of what we accomplish in our day is serendipity — and how much is just plain hard work. (I’d be willing to bet that the ratio tilts greatly in favor of the hard work.)

I know that May is almost upon us and it’s shaping up as the single most important advertising month for the NJAdClub.
If all goes according to plan, May will be heralded as Advertising Month in the state of New Jersey, and we’ll be able to bask in some well-deserved recognition from the Acting Governor and the Legislature.

May also is the month for the Jersey Awards — a glorious awards gala, created to celebrate our industry and filled with opportunity to share the glory, have your socks knocked off by the creativity, meet and greet old friends, and network with some new ones. Here is where you can view “the best of the best” that the state has to offer. And, okay, you can pass the time away with a Mayfair dinner, a decent martini or two and chatting with former colleagues, if you prefer.

Back to March now.

This issue marks the addition of a new NJAdClub sponsor, BOSS Staffing. As always, your fellow Ad Club members are here to help you. If you need answers or solutions to anything having to do with advertising, marketing or public relations, we hope you’ll turn to us. Whatever the question, we’ll work hard to find a solution.
If there’s one thing that I know after serving as president for a year and a half, it’s that our members can be relied upon. Whether for skilled professionals, education programs or simply networking possibilities, we have it all. This is one instance where serendipity takes a back seat to ability. Time after time after time.
