| May is Advertising Month
for Advertisers in New Jersey —
Pro-Bono Projects Launch the Effort
In conjunction with the third
annual May as Advertising Month in New Jersey, the NJ
Ad Club has invited all the communications associations
and organizations in the state to participate in Ad
Club’s initial project into promoting advertising,
communications and marketing in the state.
Not as elaborate as NewYork
City’s September Advertising Week, New Jersey
will begin slowly with a project designed to show that
we are “an industry that cares and can make a
difference.” The goal is to show that the state
has a heart, that advertising organizations have good
value systems and can do good for the world.
Consequently, May will be
designated as Pro-Bono Month in a proactive approach
to counter the image of advertising people as “hucksters.”
Agencies in all the participating organizations will
approach non-profit groups and small businesses and
offer free creative during the month — as a way
to introduce them to the power of advertising.
While the creative will be
completed within the month of May with limited time
and budget constraints, the finished product will be
available for use by the recipient throughout the year.
Ad Club volunteers will track the pairing.
