Wake-Up
Calls Continue to Grow in Attendance and Prestige
Using a printing term, Beth Riley,
formerly with Verizon Mobile and now a sole entrepreneur,
urged her audience to “schedule white space
for yourself,” at the Ad Club’s 12th Wake-Up
Call workshop held January 26 at Borders Books Music
& Café in Livingston.
Among the many nuggets Ms. Riley shared
were the need for prioritizing to-do lists, learning
to say no, balancing between home and work, eliminating
clutter in the mind and the workspace, creating action
files, and understanding ourselves.

moms are stressed out, tired, overwhelmed and losing
sight of who they are. It doesn’t matter whether
they’re professional women working in large corporations
or stay-at-home parents. They’re complaining that
motherhood isn’t at all what they expected.
Somehow they’ve become
victim to the onslaught of messages sent from heaven.

Enter New Jersey Advertising Hall of Fame
Three women and two men have be inducted
into the New Jersey Advertising Hall of Fame at ceremonies
emceed by Herb Barry at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.
The new entrants are Linda Rosanio, co-founder and CEO
of The Star Group, Cherry Hill; Debra Taeschler, founder,
president and CEO of the Gráfica Group, Chester;
Patricia Tesman, senior vice president of Gianettino
& Meredith, Short Hills; Karl G. Dentino, founder
of Dentino Marketing, Jersey City; and Edward J. Efchak,
vice president – marketing for the North Jersey
Media Group, Hackensack. They will be enrolled by Dr.
Alan Oppenheim, dean of Montclair State University School
of Business, the new home of the Advertising Hall of
Fame, and Karen E. Dennis, assistant dean.
