A volunteer organization
like the New Jersey Advertising Club is always
seeking new people to help promote itself, gain
new members, find good writers for AdTalk, join
a speakers bureau.
The organization’s
letter-writing expert, Len Brown (he’s also
a board of directors member), has composed compelling
letters that all members have received via e-mail.
Excerpts are recorded here.
Dear Colleague,
Wouldn’t you like to have the whole world
know your name? We can start you on the way. The
NJ AdClub is setting up a Speakers Bureau, offering
speakers to groups like Rotary, Kiwanis, Chambers
of Commerce and other business organizations.
You can be that
speaker and the subject matter is your choice.
What would you get out of this? Instant fame.
If you’d like to become a celebrity quickly,
call Pat Hanley at 201.998.5133.
Or if you’d
rather write than speak, we offer another opportunity.
You can write for AdTalk. Call Suzanne Poor at
973.857.5161 for details.
Second letter
deals with creativity
Dear Colleague,
How creative are you? If you think that you, or
your agency, are capable of creating the most
imaginative, attention-getting, knock-their-socks-off
ads, we’ve got a proposition for you.
The NJ AdClub is
looking for a few good ads promoting membership
in the organization. A number of publications
have offered us space, but we will create the
ads. That’s where you come in. We’re
offering this opportunity to our membership to
create this campaign.
What do we get
out of it? New members, attracted by your outstanding
promotion. What do you get out of it? The opportunity
to really cut loose with your creative juices
and then get credit for it.
The ads chosen
will carry a credit line identifying the author
or agency. Interested? Contact Pat
Hanley for details.
This letter ends with “Give it a shot.”
So why don’t you?
Call today.
